The forthcoming Advanced Chess events organized by CCO:

The CCO F-15 Advanced Chess Tournament

The CCO F-15 Advanced Chess Tournament will take place on the Free Internet Chess Server (FICS) on Saturday, June 18, 2005, 17:00h GMT. Everyone is eligible and invited to join. One need not be a CCO member to join the tournament, although membership is highly desirable. The tournament will be directed by a CCO staff member, and the players will be paired according to the Swiss pairing system. The number of rounds will be determined according to the number of participants. The time control will be 60 minutes for each side, without increment, for all games. The players will be allowed to switch their chess engines during matches, though a player will be required to state in advance which chess engine(s) he/she will use. The games will be unrated in order to not violate the FICS rules which prohibit using computer assistance in rated games, though CCO may calculate your Advanced Chess rating and publish it on its website if you play enough of our Advanced Chess tournaments, and if you apply for our membership. CCO members that perform well in our tournaments will be eligible for the CCO annual award "Viswanathan Anand" for outstanding contributions to Advanced Chess.

Open challenge from Aristotle

The Advanced Chess player Aristotle of cowplay.com, the winner of the CCO award "Viswanathan Anand" for outstanding contributions to Advanced Chess for the year of 2004, will play all interested Advanced Chess players in one correspondence Advanced Chess game each (this is not a simultaneous exhibition, rather it is usual practice in correspondence chess). Everyone is eligible to accept the challenge from Aristotle, with the provision that Aristotle will not play more than 5 games simultaneously. The games will be played on http://www.cowplay.com/ and the time control will be 3 days per move.
